Executive Board Meetings

The Elected Officers and Building Representatives meet monthly to discuss member concerns, union operations, the status of schools, district & state initiatives, and Massachusetts Teachers Association activities.  

All members are welcome to attend and to present business to the executive board.

Members who wish to present business but cannot attend the full meeting (possibly due to an ELT school schedule) should let the President know in advance (mari.fuscorta (at) gmail dot com) to have items added to the agenda.  

Past months' meeting agendas and approved minutes will be made available through building representatives as soon as possible after each meeting.

A special Executive Board meeting is scheduled to discuss calendar issues and ANet requirements.

All members are welcome to attend.

The calendar discussion will include contract language, the current proposal from central office, and possible ways the association can influence calendar decisions. 

Regarding ANet, teachers from participating schools may compile sample materials and turn them over to their building representative.   We will be discussing of building-by-building expectations and impressions of the program.

2014-2015 school year meetings are scheduled for Monday afternoons which do not conflict with a scheduled Director's or Principal's meeting. Meetings are held at Revere High School - Check for a room number here as the dates approach.

All members are encouraged to attend and speak at board meetings. The elected officers, past association presidents, and building representatives are voting board members of the RTA. To protect member privacy, executive session is required for the discussion of personnel issues - restricting a portion of the meeting to board members.

Members in Extended Learning Time buildings who are unable to attend the beginning of a meeting should contact RTA President Chris Kingston in advance, so be appropriately added to the agenda.
